Paul DeFelice of Laurel passed away at his home on July 20, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Laurel, he was the son of the late Paolo and Laura S. DeFelice. Paul was a construction foreman then a poultry and grain farmer for many years working his fields in Whitesville until his passing. He enjoyed rabbit hunting, training rabbit dogs, and working in his garden. He grew delicious produce and enjoyed making someone smile when he would hand deliver them a special treat from his garden.
His pride and joy was his family and he truly enjoyed taking care of them. Paul is survived by his sons, Rick DeFelice, and Darren DeFelice and his wife Kristin; daughter-in-law, Nancy DeFelice; grandchildren, Marc and his wife Shelly, Ricky and his wife Kim, Scott, Sonny, Katie, Lauren, and Taylor; great grandchildren, Lauren, Bryce, Hannah, Megan, Connor, Zach, Danielle, Jaden, Jewel and Sophia; great great grandchildren, Nixon, Kenleigh, Ryker, Porter, and Paisleigh.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kathleen DeFelice; son, Daniel DeFelice; daughter-in-law, Gail DeFelice; and his siblings, Jim, Tom, Carmen, Isabelle, Mary, Rocky, Rosalyn, and Joanne.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 28 from noon-1 p.m. at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West Street, Laurel, Delaware 19956. A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Alvin Messick will officiate. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
