William Bernard Baker of Seaford passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022.
He was born on Nov. 27, 1933 near Basye, Shenandoah County, Virginia. He was the son of William Cornelious and Virginia Agnes Baker. He was a member of the Stoney Creek Church of the Brethren in Basye.
William was a mechanic for the Seaford DuPont plant, retiring in 1989 after more than 27 years of service. He served honorably in the United States Army and Army Reserve, with the rank of Private First Class.
In addition to his parents, William and Virginia Baker, he was preceded in death by his nine siblings, and his beloved wife, Nellie Virginia Baker.
William is survived by his son, Jerry A. Baker, and his daughter, Cynthia B. Baker.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 2 at Christ Lutheran Church, Seaford. Burial was at the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Oak Grove, Seaford. Rev. Coty Lineweaver officiated.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in William’s memory may be made to the Christ Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 315 N. Shipley Street, Seaford, DE 19973.
