William C. “Billy” Spanish passed away peacefully at home on Aug. 19, 2021 in Bridgeville.
He was born Aug. 30, 1950, the son of the late William C. Spanish and Esther Peterson Spanish.
Billy was a self-employed carpenter for many years, although there wasn’t much he couldn’t do if need be. He enjoyed reading, especially history, gardening, the Dallas Cowboys, NASCAR, the daily crossword puzzle and his morning cup of coffee imprinted with the words “Everyone is entitled to my opinion”.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren, Elijah and Cy, and bragging about them to whoever.
Billy is survived by the love of his life, Sandy; grandchildren Elijah and Cyonna; their mother Andrea; brothers, Carl Spanish of Lewes, James Spanish and his wife Paula of Glendale, CA, and John Spanish and his wife Cheryl of Bridgeville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Larry (Nancy) and Chris, and a sister Nancy (Gene).
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
