Susan (Sue) Louise Rutledge of Bethel was called home to God our loving father, peacefully, on Jan. 17, 2023 at 11:50 p.m. despite the exceptional care of the doctors and nurses at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Sue leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 34 years, William H. Rutledge, Jr.; her daughter and friend Wendy Romans and Wendy’s partner Doug Van Deusen; her heartbroken younger sister Robin Furbay and husband John; two grandchildren who Sue adored, Katherine (Katie) Addison Romans and James (Deuce) Patrick Romans, as well as three stepsons, Jeff, Marty and Brian Rutledge; a sister and brother-in-law Charlotte and James Langley; and many other extended family members, and friends who loved her dearly.

Sue was an active member of Seaford Wesleyan Church “The Ark” and loved to give to others to show her love. Sue loved the beach and had a special place in her heart for her many kitties she had throughout her life. Please join us for a celebration of Sue’s life on Sunday, Feb. 5 at 2:30 p.m. at the Seaford Wesleyan Church “The Ark”, 26630 Sussex Hwy., Seaford, DE 19973. A reception at the church will follow services.
