Even if the first weekend in August is a great beach weekend, why not try something a little different? The Laurel Historical Society (LHS) welcomes the public to its summer hours on Sunday, Aug. 7 from 1 to 4 p.m. Included Laurel museums/historic properties are: the Laurel Heritage Museum (Train Station), 215 Mechanic Street; Cook House, 502 E. 4th Street; Rosemont, 121 Delaware Avenue; and Hitchens Homestead, 205 Willow Street. Other Laurel area properties, not managed by LHS, also open on Aug. 7 from 1 to 4 p.m., are the Bethel Maritime Museum and Old Christ Church Laurel. Admission to all sites is free, and donations are gratefully accepted. Questions? Call George Denney at 302-745-1963.
