Peggy Ann Turner of Laurel passed away on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022 at TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford. She was born on June 23, 1940 in Cleveland, OH, daughter of the late Melvin Radcliffe and Josephine (Polakiewicz) Radcliffe.

Ms. Turner graduated from a scholarship at the Montgomery Junior College Secretarial School and built a lifelong career from secretary at local firms to technical editor for Collins Aerospace (ARINC). On June 30, 1962, she married Donald Ross Turner in Wheaton, Md. They divorced in 2005.

Ms. Turner had many and varied interests and hobbies. She enjoyed traveling to the Caribbean with family and friends. After retirement, Ms. Turner liked to play the slot machines at the casino. She became an advocate for feral cat communities, creating a sanctuary for them in the local area. Ms. Turner strived hard to find them new homes and provide food and medical attention for many, many cats. She will be remembered as being fiercely independent, with a strong sense of humor, and an enormous heart. She was a loving and devoted mother, sister, and friend. Loved by many, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Ms. Turner is survived by her daughter, Shari Ann Packard (Almon) of Woodbine, Md., and her brother, Ronald Radcliffe.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 8 from 1-3 p.m. at Watson-Yates Funeral Home, 609 East King Street, Seaford, DE.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Yates Funeral Home and Crematorium, a Parsell Family Funeral Home, Seaford, DE.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Ms. Turner’s memory to the Four Paws Rescue and Shelter, 34 Bayview Blvd., North East, MD 21901.
