L. Dwight Short of Seaford passed away peacefully on Aug. 2, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on July 8, 1937, in Milford to the late Leroy and Elizabeth Short.

Dwight served in the FBI for six years, he then went on to work as an operations manager for International Armaments (Interarms). He was an avid golfer, he loved any and all sports, but most of all he loved his two grandchildren. He was a Freemason and a member of a Masonic Lodge in Fort Washington, Md. Dwight also was a coach for numerous youth sports teams in the Fort Washington area.

He is survived by his wife of seven years, Joan Short; son, Michael Short; grandchildren, Jenna Short and Ryan Short (wife, Madison); sister, Eileen McGrath (husband, Edward); and sister-in-law, Suzanne Short.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Elizabeth Short; his first wife, Jeanette Short who passed in 2012; and his brother, Donald Short.

Funeral services will be private.
