Joanna Sue Fuller of Laurel passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026. Jo was born on Feb. 19, 1934, in Denton, North Carolina to the late James Hal Snider and Burtrice Snider. She attended Catawba College in 1952 and majored in Music and English. Later in life, Joanna met and married the love of her life, Frederick Fuller. Together they shared 71 wonderful years of marriage and raised three children: Sheilah, Michael, and Laura.
Jo was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a lifetime member of the American Motorcyclist Association. She truly enjoyed riding motorcycles alongside her husband and children, creating countless cherished memories through their travels and adventures together. A gifted musician, Jo loved playing the piano and organ and singing in the choir. She was also an avid gardener who found great joy in spending time outdoors tending to her many gardens. Her creative spirit shone through her love of poetry, dancing, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and smocking. Above all else, however, Jo’s greatest love was her family.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Fred Fuller; her daughter, Sheilah Griffin (Alex); her son, Michael Fuller (August), and her daughter, Laura Bather (Steve). She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Shawn Griffin (Ali), Shane Griffin (Christina), Seth Griffin (Shelby), Kyle Fuller (Angelica), Austin, Ashylin, and Aaron Cave; as well as her cherished great-grandchildren: Taylor and Connor Griffin, Kolton and Kameron Griffin, Blakely and Blaine Griffin, and Emma and Hayden Fuller.
In addition to her parents, Joanna was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Bisher, who passed away just one month earlier; her son-in-law, Michael Griffin, and her niece, Renee Coleman.
Jo will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, unwavering devotion to her family, and the joy she brought to all who knew and loved her.
