James L. Robinson of Millsboro peacefully went home to the Lord on Oct. 22, 2023.
He was born July 3, 1943 in Wilmington, son of the late Betty and Guy Robinson.
Jim served in the U.S. Army Reserve for 19 years as an EOD Instructor.
He attended Henry Conrad High School and the University of Delaware graduating with a degree in business administration.
He was employed by the DuPont Co. at Chestnut Run. Jim also was a member of the Delaware State Police, retiring as an Administrative Sergeant. He also retired from Garnet Valley School District in Concordville, Pa. as a School Administrator as Director of Bus Transportation.
Jim was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and was an Eagle Scout. He was also a member of DeMolay International receiving the Chevalier Degree, the highest honor an active DeMolay can receive. In addition he was a 55+ member of Masonic Ionic Lodge #26 AF & AM; past president of the Delaware State Troopers Association and a life member of the Retired Delaware State Troopers Association
Jim was always proud to be a “native Delawarean” who liked to fish, hunt and attend local yard sales. He was a people person and a dedicated Christian man. He was a member of the Elliott Worship Center/Trinity Church in Laurel.
One of his main hobbies was to meet daily with friends at the Millsboro McDonalds to solve “all the problems of the world.”
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Marie (Barr) Robinson and by wife, Patricia (Campbell) Robinson.
Surviving is his former wife, Grace M. Robinson, children, Jill Graves (Chris), Janet Robinson, Beth Tapia (Raul), Ami Robinson and Joel Robinson (Deni); brother, Lawrence G. Robinson (Kathy) and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and the love of his life, Raven, a Shih Tzu canine.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made in James’s memory to The State Police Trooper’s Association, 3649 N. Dupont Blvd., Dover, DE 19901.
