Harrison (Harry) Rose, formerly of Erie, Pa. and Roswell, N.M., passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2020 of natural causes at the Manor House in Seaford.

Harry was a vice-president of Charles B. Padden and Son, a well-known paint and wallpaper chain in the tristate area surrounding Erie, Pa.

Harry was preceded in death by his beloved wife Joanne. He is survived by his son, David (Bonnie) and his daughter, Heidi/Anne (Eric). Harry was blessed with five grandchildren, Benjamin Rose, Abigail Klakring, Melissa Garcia, Heidi Collins, and Carol Ortiz and seven great-grandchildren.

Harry proudly served in the Navy during World War II as a sonar operator on three sub chaser/patrol craft vessels. He rose to the rank of Junior Petty Officer and served in five maritime theaters: Atlantic, Caribbean, Pacific, Sea of Japan and Bering Sea (Aleutian theater).

The family would like to thank the Manor House staff for their concern, compassion, and care since his move to Delaware.

Local celebration of life will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, Seaford at a time to be determined. Internment with military honors will be held later in Roswell, N.M., where Harry will lay in rest with his wife, Joanne.
