Gene “Colly” Horner, Jr. of Bridgeville passed away on Friday, April 10, 2020 at his residence, in Bridgeville. He was born on March 9, 1956 in Seaford, son of Frances (Webb) Horner and the late Gene C. Horner, Sr.

Mr. Horner had a lifelong career of 35 years working as an engineer for WBOC. When he wasn’t helping to ensure that the show must go on, he could be found gardening and enjoying the great outdoors. “Colly” also had a passion for good food, beer, wine making and especially animals.

In addition to his father, Mr. Horner was preceded in death by his stepson, Paul A. Sizer. He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Dorcas Horner of Bridgeville; his daughters: Alicia Wilks and her husband James of Laguna Niguel, CA and Mary-Ann Horner of Bridgeville; his mother Frances (Webb) Horner, his grandchildren: Dominic Diguiseppe of Laguna Niguel, CA, Annie Diguiseppe of Laguna Niguel. CA, Joseph Diguiseppe of Laguna Niguel, CA, Matthew Wilks of Laguna Niguel, CA, Jillian Wilks of Laguna Niguel, CA, Bella Horner of Bridgeville, Levi Shockley of Bridgeville, Morgan Sizer of Georgetown, Hallie Sizer of Georgetown, and Kasyn Walker who was like a grandson; his sisters: Tammy Whitman and her husband Robert of Seaford and Melissa MacKnight and her husband John of Charlottesville, VA and his longtime friend and brother-in-law Tony Dodson and his wife Donna and his many nieces and nephews. 

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville.
