Eleanor Jamison, a resident of the Methodist Manor Home in Seaford, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024. Eleanor was born in Woodland, the daughter of Harry C. Morris and Myrtle Parsons Morris. She was predeceased by her husband, Lyman (Sonny); son Charlie; sisters Margaret Parks and Kelly Abbott; brother John Morris and niece Susie Abbott.
Eleanor spent most of her life in Seaford. Retiring three times, first from the offices of Drs. Liefild and later Dr. John Lynch, her own business The Yarn Cupboard and lastly as manager of the Community Thrift Store. Later in life she enjoyed traveling, walking in the woods, knitting, reading and playing dominoes. She was a member of St. Johns Church; an active Soroptimist for 25+ years and a member of the Woodland Ferry Association. Eleanor was a well-known philanthropist and entrepreneur and led the effort to establish the Woodland Park. Eleanor is survived by nephews Upshur Parks, Brett Abbott, Jeffery Parks and several other nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 19 at Odd Fellows Cemetery, 514 Third Street in Seaford.
