Dolores M. Ball of Seaford passed away at home after a long illness on June 11, 2020. She was born in Nashville, TN on July 8, 1933 to the late John Currin and Willie Mae Pentecost Sneed.

She worked part-time as a sales associate through the years at Benjamin’s in Salisbury, Dorzback’s, and The Wigman, among other stores. In her early years in Delaware, Dolores taught Sunday School at Mt. Olivet Methodist Church. Initially living on the Nanticoke River on Concord Rd., she moved to a farm in Hardscrabble in 1957. She was a charter member of the Nanticoke River Yacht Club and long-time member of Laurel Saddle Friends. Dolores was well-known for the pecan pies she delivered to friends at Christmastime and other baked goods she shared year-round.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, R. Wesley Salisbury, and her second husband, Joseph H. Ball. She is survived by her children, Richard Salisbury (Linda), Murfreesboro, TN, Lola Tajen (Nejat), Knoxville, TN, Ronald Salisbury, Key West, FL, Rita Salisbury, Seaford, Denise Ball, Hartsville, SC, and Diane Conaway (Duane), Valley Center, CA. In addition to her children, Dolores is survived by two brothers, Lavert Sneed, Hendersonville, TN and Ronald (Joanne) Sneed, Mt. Juliet, TN, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
