God took David John Dupree Jr. of Hardy, Virginia, from this Earth on Friday, April 24, 2020.

He was born in Saginaw, Michigan on June 7, 1943 to David John and Rubina Tessman Dupree who predeceased him. Three sisters also predeceased him, Ruby Ann (Dale) Schnell, Donna (Donald) Wiltse, and Jane (Arthur) Miller.

David is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Marcia Mary Southworth; a son, David John Dupree III of Hardy, Virginia; a stepdaughter, Diane (Denis) Conroy; two stepgrandchildren, Aodhan and Niamh of Portarlington, Offaly, Ireland; 12 beloved nieces, Ann Graves, Kathy (John) Southern, Kurt (Patrice) Schnell, Laura (Roger) Klump, Dana (Jannis) Wiltse, Diane (Wayne) Bigelow, Dale (Tamara) Wiltse, Denice (Paul) Chomas (both deceased), Pamela Morris, Karen Kandal, Lisa (Daniel) Meihls, Jerry (Tamara) Miller and their families; and many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.

In Saginaw, Michigan, he attended Jerome Elementary School, South Intermediate and was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School in 1961. David attended Delta College and the University of Michigan. He was the Purchasing Manager for Vlasic Foods, a subsidy of Campbell Soup in Millsboro, Del. Throughout his lifetime, he had homes in Saginaw, Michigan, Seaford, Gaylord, Michigan, Bradenton, Florida, and Hardy, Virginia.

In the United States Air Force David had the highest security clearance and guarded Minute Man Missiles.

His interests were photography, cooking and baking, and restoring foreign sports cars being a long-time member of the North American MGA Register and The New England “T” Register. David had many dear pets and Kat-e, retired racing greyhound, was his latest who survives him.
