Bryan F. Lewis of Seaford passed at 4:04 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 24, 2022. He was surrounded by his wife and children.
Bryan was born Nov. 22, 1959 in Winslow, Arizona. He grew up in Arizona, and graduated from Sunnyside High School in Tucson, Arizona in 1977. Upon graduation, Bryan enlisted in the Navy. He served from Aug. 1977 to July 1982. He met Denise (Sams) July 1984, and they were married Sept. 20, 1984.
Bryan was an avid sports fan, from coaching his children’s sports team to playing in various softball and volleyball leagues. He coached several youth teams in Laurel: field hockey, basketball, and softball. He was his children’s number one fan! Bryan also enjoyed volunteering at Delmarva Christian Service Camp, whether as a camp counselor or helping his wife in the kitchen. Bryan was always the life of the party. There was nothing Bryan loved more than being a grandpa to his six grandchildren. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for them, including sacrificing his sleep.
Bryan is survived by his wife of 37 years, Denise; his children, Kenneth James, Brandi Avery (Lewis), and Aaron Lewis; siblings, Bernadine Carlyle, Neil Lewis, and Maurice Lewis; grandchildren, six total; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Preceding him in death was his father, Willard F. Lewis; his mother, Mona Mae (Harvier) Lewis; and his brother, Marvin Keith Lewis.
Arrangements for Bryan were made by Cranston Funeral Home in Seaford.
A memorial service for Bryan will be held on Saturday, Feb. 12 from 1-2 p.m.; funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. Both services will be located at the Christian Church of Seaford, 22581 Sussex Highway, Seaford, Delaware 19973.
Plans will be made for a service in Arizona at a later date.
