Betty Marie “Suzie” Lewis Spicer of Laurel passed away on Jan. 5, 2021 at TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford. Born in Milford, she was the daughter of the late Albert S. and Stella Mae Lewis. Suzie had worked for Tri-State Roofing, Robinson Real Estate, and Meadowbridge Apartments. She was a longtime member of Crossroad Community Church and loved serving the Lord and helping others. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.
Suzie is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Carlton Spicer II; son, Carlton Spicer III and his wife Kristen; brother, Albert Thomas Lewis of Lewes, Delaware; sisters, Carol Cook and her husband Robert of Lewes, Charlotte Clark and her husband Robert of Corpus Christi, Texas; Lillie Stivers and her husband Tom of Cresco, Pennsylvania, and Lynn Rogers and her husband D.C of Hiddenite, North Carolina. Several nieces and nephews also survive her.
A graveside service was held on Jan. 10 at Blades Cemetery in Blades, Delaware. Pastor Ronnie Wyatt officiated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
