The Delmar Historical and Arts Society is sponsoring an art contest with the theme: Delmar- My Hometown.
Submissions must be original, freehand artwork using pencil, crayon, markers, or paint. No digital art will be accepted. Artwork should be a portrayal of Delmar’s buildings, landmarks, landscapes, etc. and should be no larger than 11”X14”.
Submissions can be dropped off at Delmar Public Library no later than March 1. All artwork must include name, age, grade, phone number, title of work, and a short statement explaining the work. Submissions will be divided into the following groups: K-fourth grade; fifth-eighth grade; nine-12th grade; and age 18 and over.
Artwork will be on display at the Delmar Public Library through March 15. Three finalists and one winner from each age group will be determined by a panel of judges.
All artwork will be displayed at the last dinner of the group’s 2025 History Dinner Series held on March 22. Finalists and winners will be announced at the dinner and will be posted on the Delmar Historical and Art Society’s Facebook page.
All winners will receive a gift card and will have their artwork displayed at the opening of the Delmar Museum. Artwork of the finalists and winners will be featured in a calendar. The proceeds from the sale of the calendars will benefit the Delmar Museum.
