Arinda Beard Belote of Seaford passed away peacefully on Jan. 25, 2025. She was born on Sept. 20, 1932, to the late Lloyd F. Beard, Sr. and Sara White Beard. She was the third oldest of 10 children and loved her siblings fiercely.
Arinda was a long-time member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Seaford. She worked for DuPont, Sizemore Realty, and the Manor House over the course of her life. She liked to do cross stitch and embroidery as well as make quilts and homemade greeting cards. She loved to bake, she was famous in her family for her delicious yeast rolls, fudge, and monkey bread. She bowled in a league for many years and still followed the game on TV. She loved to read, was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan, and never knew a stranger. She often spent many summers at the beach with her family and often took vacations there with her sisters. She was a collector of jewelry, angels, and bells, often found at yard sales or auctions. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always taking pictures and telling everyone about her little boy, Evan. In her later years, she enjoyed watching hummingbirds, cardinals, and bluejays from her window.
She is survived by her son, Marc Belote, and her daughter, Laurie (Belote) Truitt and her husband, Michael Truitt; her grandchildren, Zachary M. Truitt and his wife, Ricki; Amanda (Truitt) Ensor and her husband, Carl Ensor; and Cody Belote and his wife, Ashley; also, her great-grandchildren, Marleigh and Stevie Tibbs, Evan Truitt, Bailey Ensor, and Saylor and Alayna Belote. Arinda is survived by her sisters, Ellen Messick, Sally Johnson, Leona Tull, and her brother, David Beard, several nieces and nephews, and many close friends.
