The Laurel Historical Society will host Independence and Ice Cream on July 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hitchens Homestead, located at 205 Willow Street. The event, open to the public, will celebrate America’s 250th birthday, the restoration of the homestead, and the debut of the Hitchens Barn event venue. Ice cream cake will be available for $3 each and there will be free on-site parking. All buildings will be open for tours. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs to watch the fireworks.
