William “Tom” Thomas Cook, Jr. of Seaford passed away peacefully at TidalHealth Nanticoke surrounded by his family on Monday, Jan. 27, 2025. Tom was born in Lewes on Dec. 7, 1946, the son of the late William Cook, Sr and Margaret Cook.
Tom was enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1969. He was a proud veteran and a member of both the VFW and American Legion Post 6. Tom retired from a long career as a union millwright. He enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, he was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins/Commanders, and he loved to spend time with his friends at the American Legion Post 6.
Tom is survived by two sisters, Ann Adams of Sarasota, FL and Debbie Cahall (Brooks) of Seaford; his brother, Buddy Cook (Judy) of Bridgeville; two nieces, Lori VanZandt (Terry) of Sarasota, FL and Lindsey Mizia (Kim) of Milton; two nephews, Rich Kellett of Colorado and Hunter Absher (Amy) of Millsboro; his daughter, Bettie Richardson (Randy) of Pittsville; step-daughter, Stephanie Kauffman-Gale of New Castle; and grandson, Matthew Richardson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William T. Cook, Sr. and Margaret H. Cook, and the love of his life, Joanne Thompson.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, Feb. 23 at noon at the American Legion Post 6, 230 N. Front St. in Seaford.
