Virginia Pennington, Ginny, as she was known by her family and friends, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Beebe Medical Center. She was born on April 10, 1937 in Wilmington to Benjamin Franklin North and Grace Pearl North.

Ginny was retired from Edgehill Pharmacy after many years of service, working in the Laurel and Seaford stores. Ginny loved reading, going on trips, spending time with her nieces and nephews and going shopping for crafts to make Christmas arrangements for family and friends. Ginny loved the water and would jump in the car anytime you said, “Let’s go”, even if just for a drive into Laurel or Seaford. Ginny will be missed by her many friends and family from Portsville United Methodist Church, where she was a member and loved singing in the choir.

Ginny was preceded in death by her husband, Paul William Pennington and step-son, Terry Pennington; her brothers, Paul, James, Benjamin, Leon and Allen North; her sisters, Elsie Blevins, Mildred Cooper and Barbara Woodie. Ginny leaves many nieces and nephews to cherish her memory, including special nieces, Linda Holton and Laura Hatfield and nephews, Paul North Jr, and Paul North III.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 13 at 1 p.m. the Portsville United Methodist Church on 31060 Dogwood Lane, in Laurel.
