Vera Evelyn Bramble (née Holland) of Seaford died on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021 at the Manor House in Seaford.

Vera was born in Muskegon, Michigan on March 27, 1926, the daughter of Charles and Ruth Holland. She was married on Sept. 26, 1946, to Homer H. Bramble, Jr., and they were married for 62 years until Homer died on Sept. 19, 2008. Vera graduated from Moorestown High School, Moorestown, NJ.

Vera was a loving and dedicated mother and wife who enjoyed painting, sketching and other art, singing in church choirs, benevolent care and volunteer work at social service agencies such as the Salvation Army, making new friends, keeping long-term friendships, helping family and neighbors, travel, reading and her work in business administration for engineering, contracting, electronics, fuel distribution and other companies over the years. She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Seaford, and the Sussex County Art League.

She is survived by a daughter Renee L. Hammond and her husband Ray of Seaford; three sons, Barry B. Bramble and his wife Judith of Delanco, NJ, Robert E. Bramble and his wife Francine of Millville, and James L. Bramble and his wife Sharon of Newport News, VA.; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was truly the matriarch of her family! A graveside memorial service was held at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Cemetery in Seaford on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021, where she was buried alongside her husband Homer. Funeral arrangements are being made by Cranston Funeral Home in Seaford.
