Sydnie Elizabeth (McCan) Arnett of Seaford passed away on Aug. 7, 2021. Born Oct. 3, 1925 in Monroe, LA, she was the daughter of Cyril David (CD) McCan and Marynell Ravencraft. Sydnie grew up in Monroe and New Orleans, LA and moved to Hurlock and later Seaford after she married in 1945. She retired from Dupont in 1984. 

Sydnie was an avid reader, sports fan, knitter, and devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Seaford. She loved her family and friends, both near and far, and cherished her time spent with them.

Sydnie was preceded in death by her parents and her twin sisters, Marynell Coden (Norman) of Houma, LA and Mariandell Hennigan (Ray) of Hodge, LA.

She is survived by her loving son, Major L. Arnett II and his wife Rene; her three grandchildren, Marla McTeer (Jimmy), Leanne Thomas (Greg), and Tim Arnett (Melissa); five great-grandchildren, Kayla Arnett, Camryn Downes, Amanda Thomas, Ashley Thomas, and Danielle (Zach) Schofer and great-great-granddaughter, Annie, all from Delaware, and her niece Mary Elizabeth Labat (Clark) of Houma, LA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, Aug. 14 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 532 Stein Hwy., Seaford, where friends may call from 10 to 11.
