Stella I. McKamey of Laurel passed away on Sept. 19, 2021 at her home in Laurel, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Trainer, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Albert Zdun and Mary Bunk Zdun. Stella was retired as a payroll accountant in the US Steel and Wire industry, and she also previously worked for Wilmington Dry Goods. She was a member of St. Hedwigs Church in Chester, Pennsylvania, and the Roma Club in Burlington, New Jersey.
Stella is survived by her son, Robert McKamey and his wife Debra of Laurel; grandchildren, Robert D. McKamey, Lori Lynn McKamey, and Robert J. McKamey; 10 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Gleason McKamey; brothers, Joseph Zdun and Stanley Zdun; sister, Sophie Oreszczok, grandchildren, Vince McKamey and Kimberly McKamey. Contributions may be made in Mrs. McKamey’s memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963. All services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel.
