Roy “Nick” D. James of Bridgeville passed away in his sleep on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020 at TidalHealth Nanticoke Hospital. He was born in New York, NY on July 25, 1940, son of the late Albert E. and Margaret (Donaldson) James.

Mr. James graduated from Bridgeville High School in 1958. He was a veteran, having enlisted at age 17 in the U.S. Navy, where he proudly served in the ARD 29 in Guam. Mr. James then transferred to the USS Hollister.

Mr. James was a member of the American Legion Lodge in Harrington and a 32 degree Mason in Hiram Lodge 21. After retiring from DuPont Company, where he worked as a manager, he was employed by Charlotte Cannon, in Bridgeville for 12 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and animals. Above all, Mr. James loved the Lord and cherished time spent with those he held most dear. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mr. James is survived by his extended family, Merrill and Judy West, Michelle West, and Angela Love.

Services will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, Bridgeville.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Mr. James’s memory to the Old Paths Church of Christ, 18295 Redden Road, Georgetown, DE 19947.
