Romaine M. Rupp passed peacefully from this world on Nov. 23. 2020. Born on June 24, 1920 in Scranton Pa., Rupp lived a rich and full life, dedicated to love of family, love of faith and service to society. As she was born into and raised through the teeth of the Great Depression, her early life was challenging. However, there were no obstacles too great to overcome. She committed to education and became a nurse, graduating from Westside Hospital in Scranton, Pa. in 1941. With the outbreak of World War II, she enlisted and served three years in a military hospital. In 1948, Romaine married the love of her life, Joseph J. Rupp. Romaine and Joe raised their five children in Philadelphia, Pa., where they lived for 45 years. 1994 saw them move to Seaford. They enjoyed 51 years of marriage, until his death in 1999.

Service seemed to come naturally to her. While being a wonderful mom, grand mom, great-grandmom, wife and sister, she always found the time to give to those in need. Much of her generosity funneled through her great commitment to her church and faith. She was a proud member of multiple church and civic organizations, having a special devotion to the Legion of Mary. God granted her an abundance of love, energy and good will. She shared these daily for all of her one hundred years.

Romaine was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Rupp; her sister, Mary Fey; her brother, Gene Fey and her son-in-law, Rick DeMarco. She is survived by her five children: Joseph Rupp (Deborah), Patti Liszkay (Thomas), Michael Rupp (Louise), James Rupp (Theresa) and Romaine Rupp DeMarco. She was also blessed with 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services were held privately.
