He was a 1947 graduate of Olney High School and had proudly served in the U.S. Navy. His career path led him to Bridgeville, where he started Pet Poultry Products, a company that at its peak employed over 150 people and had a positive impact on the local community.
Robert was a man of faith, who generously supported various ministries both locally and internationally.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his first wife, Elsie (Doering), and brothers, William, Frank and Elwood Hunsberger.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne; his daughter, Janice Kulp (James); his sons, Robert (Josie), Mark (Carol) and Thomas Hunsberger; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday March 14 at noon at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, where a visitation will begin at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, because of his love of animals, we are suggesting contributions to Brandywine Valley SPCA, 22918 Dupont Blvd, Georgetown, DE 19947
