Robert (Bob) W. Schulz passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, in Seaford. He was born in Barberton, Ohio on Dec. 13, 1932.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kathryn (Herron) Schulz (1977) and Conrad F. (Fred) Schulz (1997); his brother James C. Schulz (1999); his beloved wife Teresa (Terri) (Stillman) (Karoczun) Schulz of Hamburg, NY, (2015); and his daughter Mary E. Cooper (2016). He is survived by his dear friend Janet Ware; two daughters- Elizabeth (Betsy) Urbik (Warren) of Rockford, Illinois and Kathryn (Kathy) Jacobs (Bruce) also of Illinois; three step-daughters- Debra (Karoczun) Foca of Mount Laurel, NJ, Jane (Karoczun) Schnitter (Paul) of Columbus, Ohio, and Amy (Karoczun) Avayou of Philadelphia Pa.; and his nephew Freddy Schulz of Akron, Ohio. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Bob graduated from Buchtel High School in Akron, Ohio in 1950. He then attended Ohio State University, graduating in 1956 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He was an officer in the USAF both on active duty and inactive reserves from 1956-1966. His employment at Ohio Power Plant in Philo, Ohio lasted for six years (1956-1963) until he began work at Westinghouse Electric Co. and stayed there for 33 years (1963-1996). While working for Westinghouse, he worked at various site locations. He was most proud of his time spent in Brazil and the Philippines.
He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church where he served as finance chairperson for nine years. He later served on the Parish-Pastor Committee. He was currently a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Seaford. He was a kind man who loved his family and friends. He also loved his favorite football teams, the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Green Bay Packers. He stayed true to the music of his era, especially the Glen Miller Band and Benny Goodman. He was a loved and devoted man who will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held on June 29 from 10-11 a.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church, 315 N. Shipley Street, Seaford, Delaware 19973.
