Robert J. Kijewski, Sr. of Laurel, passed away on Aug. 16, 2020, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Philadelphia, Pa, he is the son of the late Ludwig Kijewski and Argery Heitman Kijewski. Growing up in Philadelphia, he lived in the Fairmont area until he was 12 years old. Robert graduated from Moorestown High School’s class of 1960, and after graduation he proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Robert retired from the Chevron Corporation, after over 30 years of service. He was an avid creek watcher for the Nanticoke Watershed Alliance in Laurel, loved science nonfiction and all historical documentaries. Robert loved nature and traveling with his sweetheart Bonnie up and down the east coast. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 and a half years, Bonnie Birmingham Kijewski; sons Robert Kijewski and his wife Sarah, Michael Kijewski and his wife Laura; he was a cherished Pop Pop to Jacob, Tyler, Parker, Cooper, and Addison.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Louis Kijewski and Richard Kijewski. All services will be held privately.
