Paula Gail Johnson of Milton breathed her last breath, following a sudden battle with cancer, on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021 at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. She was born on October 16, 1957 in Baltimore, Md., daughter of the late Roswell Paul and Patricia Anne (Fee) Johnson.

Paula was committed to fitness and she attended ‘built’ where her smile would welcome the members of her exercise tribe. She will be lovingly remembered by her students, teachers, administration colleagues of her education profession and was remembered by her past animated conversations of her departed cats that she treasured.

Paula is survived by her favorite aunt, Doris Lauer; her cousin, Gail Lauer-Miller; her second cousin and godmother, Julie Moreland and her husband, Chad; her second cousin, Mark Miller, and his wife Lovena, and their respective family members. On her father’s side, she is survived by her oldest sister, Deborah Kindred and her husband, John; her niece, Leah Apgar and her husband, James; her older sister, Jacquelyn Rush and her husband, Mark; her nephew, Christopher Rush and his wife, Tracy, and their respective family members. She also leaves behind her dog Cupid, who was her first puppy and ultimate companion; her friends: Diane and Patty whom assisted Paula with shopping, errands, and appointments when she was physically unable; and her confidant Joy, who was by her side until the very end and is considered her dearest friend.
