Patricia A. Mitchell of Seaford passed away peacefully on Sept. 4, 2026, with her family by her side. She was born in Bridgeville on July 9, 1944, the daughter of the late Ernest and Rosella Short.

Patricia had many hobbies such as doing Jigsaw puzzles, playing the card game Rook, and sewing. She enjoyed watching baseball and college football; she didn’t have any favorite team, she was just an avid sports fan.  She enjoyed vacationing in Virginia Beach; she loved listening to her albums of George Thorogood and Marty Stuart; she loved her Coca-Cola and jellybeans; but most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, whom she loved dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Rosella Short; her husband, Dennis Mitchell; and her sister, Bonnie Parsons.

Patricia is survived by her son, Brent Mitchell (Dawn), and two grandchildren, Trevor Mitchell and Delaney Mitchell.

Private burial will take place at Bloomery Cemetery.
