Celebrate 350 years of history with Old Trinity Church in Church Creek, Maryland, on Feb. 8 and 9. Built by English settlers about 1675, Old Trinity is recognized as the oldest church building in the United States still used for regular worship.

The 350th anniversary weekend will kick off Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. with the Chesapeake Independent Blues and the Fort McHenry Guard re-enacting the 1815 “Battle of the Ice Mound.” These two War of 1812 interpretive organizations will pay honor to veterans of every American war buried in the old graveyard, including those from the War of 1812 and both sides of the Civil War. The event is free and open to the public.

Return on Feb. 9 at 11 a.m. for the first of three historic Anglican services to be held this year, featuring the 1662 Book of Common Prayer of the Church of England.

Old Trinity Church is located at 1718 Taylors Island Road, Woolford, one mile past the Church Creek Post Office. Parking available anywhere along “Old Trinity Church Road.”
