Norman “Jake” R. Quillen of Bridgeville passed away on July 19, 2021. He was born on Sept. 15, 1966 in Seaford, son of Henry O. Quillen and the late Norma Quillen.
Jake grew up in Bridgeville and attended Woodbridge School. He built a career at AP Croll, George Lynch, and had his own business operating dump trucks and tractor trailers. He became a member of International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 542.
Above all, Jake cherished time with those he held most dear. He was a loving and devoted husband, brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his mother, Jake was preceded in death by his brother, Rusty; and his sister, Lisa. He is survived by his wife of five years, Joyce W. Quillen; his brothers: Clarence Quillen (Kae) and Charles Quillen (Sharon); his sisters: Del Burk and Kim Blaser (Ernie); and his several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Jake’s Life will be held on Sunday, Aug. 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. at VFW Post 4961, 9767 Middleford Road in Seaford.
