The Nanticoke Indian Association, Inc. will present Native American Day on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 26673 John J. Williams Highway in Millsboro. The featured speaker will be Drew Shuptar- Reyvis (Pekatawas Makataweu “Black Corn”) who holds a cum laude Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Sociology and is a Maryland State Archivist, Algonkian Living Historian, and a museum consultant. There will be free admittance; Indian fry bread, Indian tacos, and Nanticoke succotash; Nanticoke Indian t-shirts, hats, books, and other memorabilia; Nanticoke Indian language books; museum tours; and Native Traditional Dancing, Native Traditional Drumming and Singing, Native Flute Performance, Native Story Telling, Native American vendors, and Native American food.
There will be no rain date if cancelled for inclement weather. Donations will be accepted onsite.
