Nancy E. “Spanish” Shockley-Lyons of Seaford died on Jan. 8, 2021 at TidalHealth Nanticoke due to medical complications.
Nancy was born May 22, 1947, the daughter of the late Esther and William Spanish and the youngest and only girl of six. She graduated from Bridgeville High School in 1965, continuing on, working for Bell Atlantic phone company for many years, and later many knew her as the receptionist for Smith’s Eye Care. She loved dancing, camping with family and friends, stock cars, poetry, and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren, as well as a strong love for animals, especially her dog. Nancy will always be remembered for her caring-passion for others, her witty sense of humor, beauty, and crazy colored hair.
She is survived by her husband Gene Lyons of 30 years, her son David Shockley (Kathy) of Laurel and her grandchildren Kaden, Koby, and Khloe as well as her late son Darrin C. Shockley. Sr., children Rhyanne and DJ Shockley.
Memorial Services will be on Sunday, Jan. 31 at 3 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church, 22025 Atlanta Rd, Seaford.
