Nancy A. Hurley of Seaford passed away peacefully on Aug. 8, 2026. She was born on May 9, 1952, in Seaford, the daughter of the late Olen and Mary Ann Givens.

Nancy dedicated many years to serving and giving back to her community, she was a Girl Scout Leader, and a member of the SVFD Ladies Auxiliary (Seaford Volunteer Fire Department). She also proudly spent 41 years working for Amick Farms, where she built many lasting friendships and touched the lives of those around her.

Those that knew Nancy will remember not only her kindness and generous heart, but also her wonderful sense of humor. She loved cracking jokes, making people laugh, and bringing a little lightheartedness to any room she was in. She could always find a way to make you smile, and her laughter and playful personality will be deeply missed.

She was an avid reader. She enjoyed riding her Harley Davidson, going camping (especially with her grandchildren), going to the yearly NASCAR Races in Charlotte, NC, she loved animals, enjoyed bowling and was in various leagues over the years. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Olen and Mary Ann Givens; her brothers, Floyd Givens and Lloyd Givens; and her sister, Rita Overton.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bill Hurley; two daughters, Cindy VanVorst (Mark) and Denise Crockett (Scott); six grandchildren, Valerie VanVorst (Peyton), Justin Worrick (Marcela), Kenny VanVorst (Molly), Mackenzie VanVorst (Kevin), Ross Crockett and Katie Crockett; two great-granddaughters, Olivia and Emma Worrick. She is also survived by her sister, Joan Jones-Kaplan, and her brother, Bob Givens (Sharon) and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Aug. 16 at 1 p.m., with a public viewing from noon to 1 p.m. at Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N Shipley Street in Seaford.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Seaford Volunteer Fire Departments Ladies Auxiliary in her name.
