Milton “Ray” Wright from Laurel passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 18, 2021 at TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford. He was the son of the late Ernest Wright and Catherine Hastings Wright.
Ray proudly served his country in the United States Army from March 26, 1970 to Jan. 19, 1972. While serving, he was stationed in Bangkok, Thailand and completed a tour in Vietnam. He retired from the Chemistry Lab as a Laboratory Technician with the E. I. DuPont Company in Seaford, with over 35 years of service.
Ray’s hobbies included fishing, gardening, attending the NHRA races and watching his favorite NHRA driver John Force. Spending time with his family was Ray’s most treasured pastime.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Jennie Wright; sons, Ernie Wright and his wife Susan, Adam Wright and his wife Jen; grandchildren, Kaylee, Mason, Breyden, and Kendyl; brother, Elmer Wright and several nieces and nephews also survive him.
A visitation was held on Tuesday, May 25 at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel. A graveside service followed in the Sharptown Fireman’s Cemetery with Pastor Joe LeCates officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel.
