Michael Smith Spinella of Laurel passed away on Nov. 13, 2021 at TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford. Born in Miami Beach, Florida, he was the son of Charles Smith, Sr. of Laurel, and the late Jessica Spinella Smith. Michael was a talented self-employed electrician and handyman, owning and operating Smith Spinella Electric. He loved “Superman”, volunteering at our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, drawing, and creating beautiful artwork.
Michael is survived by his son, Christopher Michael Smith Spinella; daughter, Fawn Fletcher and her husband Steven Cole; siblings, Teresa Hoffman and her husband Steve, David Christopher Smith and his wife Diane, Lynne Powell and her husband Ted, Stewart Smith and his wife Stephanie, John Smith and his wife Angela, Charles Smith, Jr. and his wife Jessica, and Joseph Smith and his wife Candy. Several nieces and nephews also survive him. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Katherine Hudson.
A viewing was held at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 19. A funeral mass was held at Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church in Seaford. Burial followed in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Laurel.
