Marjorie “Margie” Jean Oliveira, formerly of Lake Worth, Fla. and Bridgeville, went to be with our Lord peacefully on Monday, June 7, 2021.

She was born in Hickory, NC on Sept. 23, 1932, daughter of the late Theodore W. Correll of Hickory, NC and the late Elsie Weaver Hutton of Bridgeville and formerly Hickory, NC.

Margie moved to Delaware in her teens after living in Mt. Dora, FL. She LOVED Florida and later moved back to Florida in 1987 before poor health brought her back home to Delaware. While in Florida she did pursue a CNA career…late in life. She LOVED caring for others and helping them.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Harlan L. Banning of Bridgeville, and her second husband, Joseph Oliviera of Lake Worth, FL; and also her youngest son, Benjamin F. Banning; and two brothers, Bobby Correll and Charles Correll.

Margie is survived by daughter, Vicki Short and husband Bob; daughter, Margie DeMott and husband Rodney; son, John Banning; daughter, Joyce Turpin and husband Jeff; and a son, Michael Banning; a brother, Bruce Williamson and wife Tammy; grandchildren, Stacy O’Day, Tracey Williams, Joe Jones, Jeffrey and Jessica Turpin and Renee Jefferson; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Tabby.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, June 16 at Cokesbury Cemetery in Georgetown.
