Louise E. Walls Hastings of Seaford passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Atlantic Shores Rehab and Health Center in Millsboro.

She was born April 13, 1927 in Delmar, a daughter of the late Milton and Florence Elliott. She was also preceded in death by husbands, Bill Walls and Bill Hastings; siblings, Joshua Elliott, Howard Elliott, Vaughn Elliott, Sam Elliott and Helen Poole; and a grandson, Kirk Rogers.

Louise graduated from Milton High School. After graduation she worked as a school bus driver and helped her late husband run Walls’ Shell Station in Laurel. She was a member and past-president of the American Legion Post 19 ladies auxiliary and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church for many years. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, bowling and most importantly, rooting for her Baltimore Orioles. She was a wonderful cook and was well known especially for her applesauce cakes. She will be remembered as a very giving and outspoken wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many. Please remember her the next time you crack open a Dr. Pepper or bite into a Three Musketeers candy bar.

She is survived by her children, Lee Walls (Bonnie) of North Carolina, Mark Walls (Paula) of Seaford, Neal Walls (Sue) of Delmar and Louanne Rogers (Dave) of Bridgeville; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild on the way. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the nurses and administrative staff of Atlantic Shores for the special care and support they provided for Mom during her stay there.

All services will be private at the request of her family.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the American Legion, Post 19, 12168 Laurel Rd, Laurel, DE 19956.
