Lois Jean Francis (Scoville) passed away Dec. 7, 2021 at TidalHealth in Seaford.

She was born at Cambridge Hospital, Nov. 9, 1943 and grew up in Cambridge. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1961 and moved to Bel Air, Md. where she worked for several companies.

While in Bel Air, she married Carl Francis and they moved to Macon, Ga. for his work transfer. 

After their divorce, she moved back to Cambridge and began work at Cambridge Scientific, now Diversy-Lever. She worked there for several years until its closing. Lois sold her home in East New Market and moved to Bridgeville to be with her longtime companion Byron Lewis.

Lois was a kind and generous person and was loved by everyone who knew her. She was an animal enthusiast who tried to help out as many cats and dogs as she could. She was a fastidious housekeeper and a very neat and orderly person. She will be greatly missed.

The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses and everyone for the excellent care she got at TidalHealth.

She was predeceased by her mother June Mendenhall (Metz), stepfather Robert Tieder of Cambridge and nephew Scott Barnett.

She was survived by her longtime companion Byron Lewis, stepmother Judy Tieder of Cambridge, sister Kathy Barnett and her husband Curt of Seaford, niece Rachel Barnett and her daughters Michele and Lynne of Seaford.

She was cremated and a private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Interment will be at McColley Church Cemetery near Georgetown.
