Lewis S. Lowe of Laurel passed away on Feb. 7, 2024 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Hospital in Salisbury, surrounded by his loving family. Lewis was born on Feb. 14, 1938, to the late Linwood Lowe and Margaret Brittingham Lowe. He enjoyed farming on the family farm well into his 80’s, growing chickens and planting many crops. He truly lived to work. Lewis was a lifetime member of King’s United Methodist Church, past member of the Laurel Saddle Club and the Mar-Del Watermelon Association.
Lewis is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Bonnie Hudson Lowe; sons, Lewis “Doug” Lowe, and David R. Lowe; daughter, Debbie Wilson and her husband John; grandsons, Bryant Lowe and his wife Jacqueline and Mark Wilson; and great-grandson, Reid Olson Lowe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Brenda Lowe.
A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 16 at Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West Street, Laurel, Delaware 19956. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. Pastor Lisa Hines will officiate. Interment will be held at the Lowe Family Cemetery in Laurel.
