Leslie Thomas Riggin of Felton passed away at Christiana Hospital on Dec. 6, 2020. Born in Lewes, he was the son of the late Virginia Dill Satterfield and Thomas Harvey Riggin and his stepmom Dorothy Riggin. Les graduated from Laurel High School in the class of 1952. He spoke very fondly of his time at Laurel High and looked forward to attending the alumni gatherings. He retired from Worthy Bros. Pipeline Corp. of Wilmington.

In his free time, he enjoyed flying with his friends as a recreational pilot. They would often fly out of state to explore and grab lunch or coffee. He was a rifle enthusiast who enjoyed meeting his friends at the range to practice, and by all accounts he was a pretty good shot.

Les is survived by his son, Marc C. Riggin and his wife Cassandra Riggin of Charlottesville, Virginia; daughter, Melanie K. Riggin and her husband Richard van Dijk; grandchildren, Connor D. Riggin of Charlottesville, Virginia, Natasha van Dijk, and Tony van Dijk of Amsterdam, Netherlands; siblings, Tommy Riggin and his wife Carol of Laurel, Marilyn Johnson of Laurel, Penny Tyndall of Bethel, Jean Tubbs and her husband Jimmy of Laurel, and Elmer Riggin of Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Phillip Riggin.

A private family viewing was held on Friday, Dec. 11. A graveside service followed at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pastor Dean Perdue officiated. Arrangements are in the care of the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel.
