The public is invited to the Laurel Historical Society’s spring dinner, scheduled for Saturday, March 22. The evening will also feature a book signing and presentation by author and society member Don Ward.

Don grew up in Sussex County on a small farm near Millsboro. During his long career in education, Don taught physics and chemistry at Millsboro High School, became the last principal of that school, and retired as Supervisor of Instruction from the Indian River School District. Don’s publications include a history of Carey’s Church and Camp entitled Hope and History, and his autobiography, My Journey.

The dinner, presentation, and book signing will take place at 6 p.m. at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, 600 S. Central Ave., Laurel, Delaware.
