Larry David Bartee of Laurel passed away on July 2, 2025 at home in Laurel.

A remembrance service will be held at Hannigan-Short-Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West Street, Laurel, on Saturday, July 19 with visitation at noon and eulogies starting at 1 p.m.

Larry David Bartee was born in Loudon County, TN to Mary June Rollins on Aug. 15, 1956. He was raised by Mary June and Edward Bartee in Birmingham, Alabama. A free spirit from a young age, he left home as a teenager and moved to Los Angeles, CA where he spent several years living life to its fullest. He later became a licensed passenger boat captain, piloting many journeys along the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. After moving to Delaware, Larry earned his Commercial Driver’s License and worked as a professional driver, both as a long-haul tractor trailer driver and a local dump truck driver. Outside of work, Larry enjoyed spending time with friends, repairing small and large engines, and playing video games. The Final Fantasy Series and Gran Turismo Racing Franchise were two of his favorites. A reliable friend, Larry’s help was always just a phone call away.

Larry is survived by his sons, David Lee Bartee (Kellie) and Gideon Franklin Sisk III (Elizabeth) of Laurel; his grandchildren, Britney (Ashlee), Ashley (Justin), Elizabeth (Zack), Gideon “Bud”, Alyvia (Ridge), Ava, and Emma; his great-grandchildren, Kaylie, Katarina, Gideon, Jack, Kayden, Kylie, Jasper, Karrah, Madison, Karmyn, Rhett, and Kyla; brothers, Charles “Butch”, and Benjamin Curtis; sisters, Diana, Betty, and Vera; nephews, Steven, Scottie, Christopher, Justen, Jordan, Rudy, Billy, James, Kenny, Bruce, Richard, and Theodore; nieces, Neisey, Bobbi, Laura, Jennifer, Ashley, Lisa, Michelle, and Beth; and many friends.

Larry is preceded in death by his daughter, Carly Lynn Baker of Chamberlain, SD; ex-wife, Doris Bartee; parents, Edward and Mary June Bartee; brothers, Edward, Richard, and James Wesley Williams; and sisters, Linda and Patti.
