On Monday, Feb. 22, 2021 Kay Parks Pusey went home to be with her Lord and Savior. Kay Parks Pusey was born in Marion Station, Md. on Nov. 3, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Francis H. Parks and Agnes (Williams) Parks.

Kay retired from the telephone company after 35 years of service. She worked as a secretary for Seaford Christian Academy for 12 years. She most recently retired from Rite Aid in Laurel with 31 years of service. Kay loved to stay busy and was happiest when she was helping others. Her pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She would go to as many events that she was allowed to cheer on and support her grandchildren. Kay was a huge fan of the Delmar football team, and she was a Sunday School teacher for over 60 years where she loved to share the love of Christ with everyone.

She was raised in Blades and graduated in the Seaford High School class of 1955. Kay was the oldest of six children and was the matriarch (mother hen) of the family since her mother passed. She is survived by her son Garret Pusey of Laurel, Dawn Lucas (Russ) of Delmar, and foster son Jamie Wilkins (Tracy) of Hurlock; grandchildren, Mara and Madeline Pusey (Brandon Scott) of Laurel; Taylor, Carly, Mackenzie, and Parker Lucas, of Delmar; Zach Wilkins (Beth) of Laurel, Shannon Ginder (Paul) of Elizabethtown, Pa., and Forrest Pusey of Atlanta, Ga.; great-grandchildren Leilani, Harper, Skylar, Cole, Cameron, Adrianna, Uriah, and Leila; siblings Gloria Smith (Dave) from Georgetown, Janet Warwick from Salisbury, Betty Jo Cowger from Elkridge, Md., and Van Parks (Susan) from Reynoldsburg, OH; close friends, Betty Lutes and Helena Gibbs of Delmar, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.

In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her son Racey Pusey and her sister Margaret (Peggy) Kirkendall. A viewing was held on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Laurel. A funeral service was held on Friday, Feb. 26, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Laurel. A viewing was held one hour prior to the service. Reverend Richard Blades officiated. Interment was held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Laurel.
