June Carolyn Kraft Perdue, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025. Born on Oct. 20, 1941 in Seaford, June was the daughter of Ruth Elizabeth Taylor and Frank Kraft.
June was predeceased by her loving husband, Arthur Perdue, Sr.; her mother, Ruth Kraft Arvey; stepfather, Marion Arvey; and her brother, Wayne Kraft.
She is survived by her devoted children: Dale (Lori) Perdue, Alison Perdue Tingle, Artie Perdue, and Scott Perdue. June was a proud grandmother to Danielle Tingle Hayes, Taylor (Jerran) Devlin, Logan (Kayla) Dunn, Annie Perdue (Codey), Megan Perdue, Sarah Perdue, Marissa Perdue (Tyler), and Dalton Perdue. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Kabreah, Kadyn, Kallen, Henley, Hudson, Amelia, and Ivy.
June also leaves behind her loving sisters, Barbara Truitt, Margaret (Olin) Tarr, Joanne Yates, and sister-in-law, Brenda (Jim) Hearn, several nieces and nephews, as well as her lifelong friend, Janie Patterson.
She was a 1959 graduate of Seaford High School where she was proudly named “Miss Personality”. June later attended Goldey-Beacom College and studied business. Over the years, she contributed to her community in many ways, including her involvement with the Seaford Moose Lodge, Nanticoke Little League Auxiliary, and Cub Scout Pack 182.
Professionally, June worked in the jewelry department at Woolworth’s, in the medical records department at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, and for Dr. James Palmer. However, her most cherished role was that of a stay-at-home mom during her children’s early years. She was a constant presence at their sporting events and school activities, always cheering them on with pride and love.
A talented and creative spirit, June enjoyed sewing, baking, and crafting. She looked forward to Saturdays spent visiting with friends at the Laurel Flea Market, where she loved to socialize and share in the joy of community.
June’s warmth, kindness, and sense of humor touched everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she brightened.
The family would like to thank Vitas Hospice for making it possible for her to be comfortable at home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Vitas Hospice (30265 Commerce Drive, Suite 202, Millsboro, DE 19966) in memory of June Perdue.
A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends June 14 from 3-5 p.m. at the Nanticoke Yacht Club.
