John C. DeCarlo of Seaford passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024. He was born in Chester, Pa. on Sept. 28, 1943, the son of the late Columbus and Maria DeCarlo.
John graduated from St. James High School in 1963, he then enrolled in Goldey Beacom College where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1967. After graduating John worked for 7-11 and Wawa before he started working for Scott Paper (now known as Kimberly-Clark) in 1969. John retired from Scott Paper after 35 years of service on March 12, 2004.
John loved to read, he loved watching the Philadelphia Phillies and the Philadelphia Eagles, he loved crossword puzzles and wordsearches, spending time with family and friends, and volunteering for Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Seaford.
He survived by his daughter, Patricia G. Warnock; his son, Vincent A. Warnock; brother-in-law, Frank Dimaio; sister-in-law, Nancy Bell (Dimaio) as well many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
John was preceded in death by his wife Joan DeCarlo (Dimaio), his parents, and some of his cousins.
John was very well loved by his family and friends and will be missed greatly.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 528 E Stein Highway, Seaford. Prior to the funeral mass, a public viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N Shipley Street, Seaford. Immediately following the funeral mass, interment will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John’s name to American Diabetes Association, Heart and Lung Association, and/or Wounded Warriors Project.
