Jocelyn “Jacy” Shea Cooper of Laurel passed away on Oct. 12, 2023 at her home. Jacy was born on May 8, 1991 at Christiana Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware to her loving parents, Jeffrey and Lora Cooper.
She loved music, playing the piano, reading magazines and visits from family members. Jacy gave the best hugs, loved to laugh, and had a beautiful smile that would light up the room. Everyone who knew her saw the glory of God in her every day.
Jacy is survived by her parents, Jeffrey and Lora Cooper; sister, Ally Cooper; maternal grandmother, Juanita Grim; paternal grandmother, Emma Lee Cooper; and Auntie Jennifer Wilkerson and Uncle Paul who were wonderful caregivers to Jacy. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who dearly loved her.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Robert Lee Grim, Jr., and paternal grandfather, William W. Cooper.
A visitation was held on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel followed by a funeral service with Pastor Jeff Bryant officiating. Interment followed in Spring Hill Memorial Gardens in Hebron.
