Joanne Louise Gorlich of Laurel passed away at her home on Sunday, Aug. 22, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Woodbury, NJ on Aug. 31, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Virgil Leroy and Muriel Bickford Lewis Vanderpool.

After graduating from high school, Joanne pursued her nursing degree and became a registered nurse. Active in the health care industry, she had worked for several hospitals throughout her career. She retired in 2004 from the Deer’s Head Center in Salisbury as a respiratory nurse.

In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by a sister, Barbara Steward.

Joanne is survived by her husband, James W. Gorlich, who she married in February 1963; a son – Richard P. Gorlich (Gerri); a daughter – Joanna L. French (Matthew); grandchildren – Benjamin I. and Faith M. Gorlich and Erin M. and Sean M. French; a sister-in-law – Deanna Munyon and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be announced at a later date by the family.
